Early birthday

Tonight we celebrated Ben's birthday with Grammy and Poppy. They will be leaving for Houston in a few days and won't be in town for Ben's party. Ben thought it was just fine to start celebrating early. He LOVED having everyone sing to him and getting to blow out the candles. He got to do it twice and Liam got to do it too. Fun times for everyone!

Fire trucks, ambulance... oh, my

Tonight we met our friends, Beckett and Jessica at a city wide event in another town. I was very impressed. Live music, jump houses, face painting, crafts, etc. The boys were mostly excited to see all the city emergency vehicles, which were on display for the kids to climb all over. Sweet!

(If Ben actually breaks his arm some day, I doubt he will have this huge grin on his face.)

Again, so soon.

We got invited back for another spin. This time Liam got to go too. He was thrilled. Shocked really at all the choices.

Fast machines

I can't believe Ben got this all to himself for an hour! I can't even begin to tell you how THRILLED he was. We were at the home of friend's of my parents. He has asked repeatedly if we can go back.

Me and Ben

Ben and I got to have a dinner out - just the two of us. I love getting to spend time with Ben when I can really listen to him. He has a lot to say. Mostly, he talks about Trans*formers, Mega*Zord, and all other almost-five-year-old cool things. It's hard to get Ben out of the house these days. He can't stand the heat so this was a special treat for both of us.

Big enough for two or more

This sand box rocks! There is plenty of room for both boys plus friends. The toys can stay in the box all the time and be covered by a tarp. There is constant shade. The toy mega-tub is the perfect place for me to sit and chat with the boys while they place. Love the sand box! Love the fort!

iPhones in Bed

I upgraded my iPhone and gave Rob my "old" one. Now that we are a two iPhone family, the boys can play angry birds at the same time. The only thing better than that is playing angry birds in bed, first thing in the morning. Life is pretty sweet.
