The great outdoors

It's hot. None of us can stand to be outdoors for very long but still we must get out and do something. Today we went to Wolly Hollow - my favorite local State Park. It's only 30 minutes from our house. They have a play ground, lake with swimming area, trails, camp grounds, the works. It's small, which makes it perfect for our boys.

Birthdays galore

We went to another birthday party today. We celebrated with Beckett at The Little Gym and it was a blast! The boys climbed, jumped, ran, balanced, hung and all those gym related good times.

Ben declared this cake a winner! It was actually cupcakes (heavily) covered with icing and a very cool construction scene. This party wins big. So does my dear friend Jessica, who is an awesome mom!!! Thanks for the great time.

Fondant not Fun

The boys were invited to a birthday party tonight at The Wonder Place in Little Rock. They both love the games, toys and play centers at this amazing place just for kids. It was a double bonus for Ben because he got to be with his best friends from school. Unfortunately, the party went south when Ben ate what he thought was a piece of candy on the birthday cake. Turns out it was fondant and apparently Ben is NOT a fan of fondant. He is having a very hard time understand why anyone would put "decort" (that's decorations) on a cake. In Ben's own words, "why can't it just have icing?"

The offending red mushroom on the Mario Brother's cake is there in the front. Darn those pesky little mushrooms.

Keep on swimming, Keep on swimming

That's the theme of the summer. We are in our fourth week and Ben is doing great.

Ms. Carrie has been wonderful. Once he gets comfortable with his face in the water and he will take off!

Not cutting the mustard anymore

This sand box is just not cutting it anymore. Time to start getting serious about a new plan for backyard fun.

(Liam is pointing in the right direction.)
