Perfect swim

Every day should include a few hours like these - totally care free, summer fun. We went swimming this evening - all four of us. The weather was perfect. The water was perfect. The boys were perfect. It was just clean fun. No fuss. Fun and free. A nice combination.

Ben is absolutely loving the water this summer. Swim lessons continue to go well. He is making strides each day. He still loves to wear his "shark" when not at swim lessons but he is getting around the pool and using those skills he is learning.

I am so thrilled that Liam is also loving the water this summer. He was slower to get in this evening but once he did there was no stopping him. He can also get all over the pool by himself. He does want to be close to either me or Rob but he gets around by himself.

Ben jumped in the pool about 32 times tonight. He started out wanting me to catch him but he gave that up and began jumping in without assistance. Then we headed for the diving board. He did 5 or so jumps with the shark and then he took it off and did some jumps without it. I, of course, caught him each time and helped him to the side of the pool. Very impressed with how he is conquering his fears. He was very proud of his successes tonight. So was I!!

Liam gave the diving board a look and even walked out to the end of the board. He decided to jump from the side of the pool instead. He jumped no less than 20 times from the side in the shallow end. Then jumped from the side of the pool in the deep end. Also, an impressive swimmer.

Water and cameras just don't mix so I didn't get as many photos of this fabulous evening as I would have liked. Instead, I stayed in the water the whole time and enjoyed being with Rob and kids. That's pretty perfect.
